How Implementing a Facebook Group Can Harness Community & Grow Your Brand

Facebook groups are an extremely powerful tool to connect with your customers, create and build a community, and promote your business in a way that your Facebook Business Page cannot!

Scott’s Cheap Flights: If you haven’t heard of this budget travel website, minimize your screen and check it out NOW. This company finds cheap international and domestic U.S. flight deals and sends you alerts when prices plummet. Not only is the company itself just a cool concept, but their private Facebook group also houses a whopping 169,000 active members talking about the trips they snagged from the website.
Peloton: The Official Peloton Member Page is a private group where Peloton fans and customers can chat about their favorite instructors, new products, and swap schedules. This loyal and dedicated group provides value to its members by sharing exercise plans, techniques, and training methods.
Instant Pot: This massive group of international Instant Pot users (3 MILLION!) utilizes this space to ask questions as well as post their unique recipes to share their joy of cooking with other fans.
Now that you’re a little more familiar with the brands that are doing it best, let's go over a few ways to set your Facebook group up for success!
Create a code of conduct: It’s a good idea to set the guidelines for all members, especially one that represents your business and sets the tone of the group's behavior.
Post welcome messages, announcements, and offerings special to your group members.
Engage with your members, but let them take the lead. It’s important to keep your group engaged with a prompt or a poll, but don’t try to control too much. Encourage members to start their own conversations. Here’s an example: Your last product launch didn’t sell through like you thought it would. Ask your audience for their feedback! This is a great way to learn more about what your audience wants from your brand and your products without having to spend any money at all.
Offer unique, high-value content for your Facebook group members. Give your Facebook group members a good reason to stick around. If they’re getting value and something special and unique out of it, they’re likely to stick around. Stuck on ideas? Ask your group what they want!
