Elisabeth Vezzani and Leslie Lyon set out to create a gifting company and ended up in the happiness business, aka a business centered around gifting sweets and delicious treats.
Launched in November of 2012, Sugarwish based their business on a simple concept: let the receiver of the gift choose their own present! Here’s how it works: the giver purchases a box from the Sugarwish website, Sugarwish sends the receiver an e-card, the receiver chooses the candy/cookies/popcorn they want, and their gift box is mailed directly to them.
Instantly gaining momentum, Sugarwish began to grow at nearly 3x per year. Elisabeth and Leslie turned to AMR to lead their social media efforts so they could keep pace with the growth of their business.
Already starting out with a strong following, Sugarwish looked to AMR to help increase engagement and bring a more creative aspect to their social feeds through graphics and copywriting.
In the first 10 months of the partnership, AMR doubled Sugarwish’s Instagram following and increased engagement from .5% to over 1% (Industry average = 1% – 3%).
This growth has sparked Sugarwish to expand from its original offerings to include savory snacks, dog treats, and cotton candy. As a female-owned and operated agency, AMR is grateful to work with other strong female-led businesses and continue to help them grow and evolve!
